Hi there,
I just want to know how soon can I do a pregnancy test. My period should start on the 30th April. I did a test last wed( public holiday) but was negative, did I do the test to early. But now I'm feeling moody and bloated, nausea but no vomiting, my nipples are sore etc. Can I be pregnant or is something wrong with me. Can somebody please help.
Thank you!

You could be pregnant, but maybe wait until your period is late? It's so exciting! Let us know if you are!

Hi Juanne, I read that a home pregnancy test can detect pregnancy as "early as the fisrt day of your missed period" - conclusion that I made from it, was that you should wait at least 2 weeks after ovulating, to do the test.
Also, best to do it early morning, as the concentration of the hormone that should be present if you are pregnant is then at it's most concetrated.
Any way good luck, - with the waiting and hoping the next test will be a positive!

That sounds very positive!!! I agree with EEVD wait until your period is late and do another test, or you could go for a blood test that should be able to give you a result!!
Keep us posted.

Hi there,
Thank you all for the response on my question. I sould have waited for my period but I am feeling awful, so something said to me to take the test as soon as I drop off the children at school. So I went and bought 4 different brands and it was all positive. So I am excited but don't get my hopes up to much as I had a miscarrige at 4 weeks of my previous pregnancy. But anyway, I am going to stay positive and go to the doctor a week from today. Please pray for me that everthing will be fine this time. Thanks for all your help. Will let you know soon!!!

Hi there,
Thanks for all your support. I am feeling very sad today and the nausea is getting me under, feeling tired and have a terrible flu. Just want to go to bed and stay there. But hopefully I feel better tomorrow.
Will update as soon as I was at he doctor.
Will still pray for all of you.

The tests are pretty accurate these days, but rather go to your local clinic or doctor to get it confirmed and to get a plan on how to care for yourself if youa re pregnant. Let us know how it turns out.

Hi All. I work for a company that sell these tests. I don't want to advertise my own brand in this forum so I won't. Just wanted to let you know that home pregnancy tests differ in that they don't all test for the same level of the hCG hormone. In other words, some tests will pick up a pregnancy earlier than others. Ours for instance can pick up a positive result 2 days before expected menstruation.
These tests are very accurate and if you see 2 lines (even if the test line is very faint), you are most probably pregnant.

If I was your sis in law I would go to the store and buy 5different brands of HPT and if there is still mixed results I would go for a blood test.Crossing fingers for her.My period is now 2 weeks late, did 1 test and it was negative, but will be doing another 1 soon

Why don't you guys just walk into a medi-clinic or the like, go the their pathcare offices and get blood drawn? It is 100% accuarate and it will tell you how far along you are.
You don't need any documentation for this test, walk in and ask. It is as simple as that and much more accurate than a urine test. The test costs approx R120 but your medical aid should cover it anyway

Hi
Im on the injection form of contraception, but accidentally missed my due back date by 4 days. I have been told I need to do a pregnancy test at 6weeks, but dont want to wait that long. A home test says 7 - 10 days after conception, which it has now been. I did go back on on the injection. Would a home kit pick up if I am pregnant? Or would I have to do a blood test?
