My husband and I are looking for good social workers in private practice in Gauteng that can assist us in commencing the interview and screening process as well as look into adopting a baby either in SA or in India.

Hi there, I believe my sister would have been of more help to you as she researched the subject of adoption from India from beginning to end, but as she's in Australia at the moment with no internet access, I guess I will have to do :-). Unless you are of Indian descent, unfortunately you will not be able to adopt from India, as their adoption policy is to only adopt children out to people of Indian descent, to try and retain some sense of culture. I am interested in adoption and my sister (as well as other folks on forums where I lurk) have suggested Procare. I don't have contact details, but a google search will give you everything you need. They specialise in the placement of Coloured or mixed race babies. I hope this helps :-).
