We live in Oudtshoorn, and have a 4 month old baby-boy.

Daycare (full day) R580 p/m
Nappies (Pampers/ Huggies) R300
Formula (Infacare) R450

Clothing: We buy minimal, I have so many items of clothing that was given to me with the baby-shower and friends still bless baby with clothes, so I think we'll start buying the 6-12mnth range.

Toys: Baby is still not that interested in toys, he has a few rattles, teether (Loves eating his tiny fingers- teeth are coming soon) and soft toys in his cot)

At this stage babies are stimulated by external colours and are taking in everything from his/her surroundings.

If you are a new parent... don't stress about the finances... You dont really need R5000 a month, (if you live in a town... I know cities can be more expensive)

Medical is important though, these little ones can be quite hard on your MSA...

Babies are wonderful though... mine is the highlight of our life!

Money you used to spend on booze = R2000.00+ every month

late night snacks because of booze = R1500.00+ every month

Replacing lost items because of booze = R500.00+ every month

Hangover fry-ups, Red Bull, juices, aspirin = R1000.00+ every month

See, you'll be fine you have enough cash, stop worrying about money and start dreaming about the joy of parenting
