I said after 4 hours, but I can actually still function after only 2 hours of sleep. Function being a relative word. I can make lunch, but realise I left the margarine in the grocery cupboard, right next to the milk, and put the Coco Pops in the fridge with the peanut butter, and sugar. I feel dangerous whilst driving because I feel like a zombie. At work, I forget all my passwords, and process journal entries the wrong way round. I send "joke" emails to the wrong people because their name starts with the same letter as my friend. I've even forgotten my name on more than one sleep deprived occasion. d'oh!

So, I CAN function on only 2 hours sleep, but 4 is better. Applause

I had one newborn that had colic from 6 till about 2 in the morning and then a 1 year old that woke up every 2 hours thereafter for bottles and all sorts, teething etc Bioplus sachets were my best friend.

my husband left when my daughter was 10 days old (she has colic and reflux). We also have a 4 year old son together.
my son sleeps like a dream from 7pm till 6am but my daughter woke every 2 hours for the first 3 months. she is now 4 1/2 months and going 4 hours. it get's easier. its amazing what moms (and some dads) can do when they need to :) Hang in there, it gets easier

Oh my goodness, that's heavy going. Glad it's improving now. Thank goodness your son is a good sleeper!
