I work for a NGO company, I manage all the special need children on various farm.
These children are all underpriviledged, come from bad homes / situations within their society.
I have come across one baby that I would really like to get help for , he is 9mnths old and was born 2mnths prem.
He has a twin brother, who is the total oppsite.
This little baby can be comapred to a plastic doll. He lies flat on the blanket on the floor and doesnt bend a arm or leg.
When you pick him up he is not like a "floppy baby".. totally stiff. In order to get his little legs down I need to push them down. He was tested for Cerebral Palsy and this came back negative.
What could be wrong with this baby ? How can I help him ? His parents live hand to mouth and to can not afford suitable therapy, I thought perhaps a students studying paediatrics could do some volunteer work with this baby.
Can anybody else suggest what you think I should do?

My sister-in-law recently had her baby and she is 3 months old now and i remember this baby being very "stiff and tense and uneasy" as if in pain and her hands were allways clenched in fists, but she didnt cry more than normal or screamed. my sister-in-law did have a "tense" pregnancy where she had to work and drive her own car every day right up to the last day and at her work there was alot of tension re her pregnancy. i see now my sister-in-law does alot of massaging with oil on her baby and she does alot of skin-to-skin with her and she seems a happy baby that is growing.good luck and keep up the good work.
