Hi SuzzieQ,
I feel your frustration! I also need someone to share experiences with. Hubby and I have been trying to conceive since Jan 2010, and I was on the pill for about 10 years before that. After about 6 months with no luck I got pretty stressed, and was also experiencing strange long cycles - I am convinced that I was not ovulating every month, and that when I was I couldn't get the days right because I was ovulating on different days each time.
Now its a year and a half later and I can see that over the last few months, my cycles have normalised and I know exactly when i am avulating, so realy hoping this will help the cause... we have decided that if nothing yet by November, we are going to the gynae for both of us to get tested.
you are absolutely right.. we do spend our lives convinced that if we skip one pill, or have unprotected sex just ONCE that we will fall preggies - now I find out there is only a 15% chance of it happening each cycle. First you have to make sure your body is functioning as it should be, then you have to make sure that you do the funky monkey at the right time, in the right position, then you only ovulate on one side, so hopefully the sperm choose the right fallopian tube to swim to, and then the sperm needs to be strong enough to penetrate, and then the egg needs to get to the lining of the womb and successfully implant - just one of those goes wrong and we have a BFN!!! AARRGGHH!!
I am actually on the first day of my two week wait now... lets hope this is the one!!!! Hope it's yours too :)
