My 2 year old needs to get a pulpotomy (root canal in milk teeth) has anyone's kids gone through this procedure before, and if what is your feeling about it and was it successful?

I've never heard of that before - in fact I thought milk teeth didn't really have roots, which goes to show it's just as well I'm not a dentist. I Googled and didn't find a lot of info there either. Please let us know when you've got more info, this is so interesting.

My daughter had it done on one of her molars. The only reason for this is that if they take out the tooth before it's supposed to come out, the rest of the teeth close the gap intended for the permanent tooth. That tooth then only serves to keep the space until the permanent one comes out. She was about 9 and got through the procedure just fine. She's turning 12 soon and the tooth is still holding strong and hasn't given her any discomfort.
