I'd just like to hear other peoples opinions. If I have my babies 8 week injection at the hospital it will cost R3500, if he gets the government injection (at the same hospital) at 6 weeks it will be for free. Can anyone offer advice on what they've done?

All I can say is mine had theirs on the government schedule and I was happy with that. What are your specific concerns?

Wow that is expensive, I live in a little town and all I did was purchase the vaccine from the chemist and had the local nurse administer it to my baby and complete the card. This cost me about R300-400 per immunisation

I took my son to the government clinic for free and that is cost effective remember kids r expensive so rather use the hospital for serious illness not just for preventative measures that u can ultimatly get for free.use ur free services u pay UIF for this public services so use them..the is nothing wrong with government services
